When the Lake Lipno area is covered in a blanket of snow, the landscape turns into a huge playground for winter fun. Tubing and sledding at Lake Lipno are among the most popular winter activities for visitors of all ages, from the youngest kids to playful adults. So where can you enjoy tubing and sledding around Lake Lipno?
Tubing and Sledding at Frymburk Ski Park
Frymburk Ski Park is an ideal place for families with children who are looking for winter fun. A specially groomed slope for tubing and sledding is located right next to the parking lot, by the Méďa Kubík children’s park. For maximum convenience, a moving walkway is available to effortlessly take you back to the top.
There is an entrance fee for the slope, and visitors have the option to purchase different types of tickets. The basic ticket includes access to the slope, and for an extra fee, you can use the moving walkway. A practical option for families is the “tubing-sledding pass,” which, in addition to access to the hill and the moving walkway, also includes the rental of high-quality sleds. If you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent tubes or sleds directly at the resort.
Tubing and Sledding at Lipno Ski Resort
The Lipno Ski Resort also caters to fans of sledding and tubing. The popular Fox Park is dedicated to these activities and also offers evening sledding. While standard operating hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, evening sledding takes place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM under artificial lighting.
Every year, Fox Park also organizes popular family sledding races, which are a great opportunity for a day full of fun.
Natural Tubing and Sledding in the Lake Lipno Area
In addition to the groomed resorts, the Lake Lipno area also offers countless natural slopes where you can enjoy sledding and tubing. These locations are mainly sought out by visitors who prefer a quieter environment away from the main tourist centers. However, when choosing these spots, it is important to be extra cautious and select slopes with enough space, free from dangerous obstacles such as trees, stones, or fences.
Safety First
To ensure winter fun remains a pleasant experience, it’s important to follow a few basic safety rules. Always choose slopes that are appropriate for your abilities, are not too steep, and provide enough space for a safe stop. Use high-quality equipment, ideally tubes or sleds with brakes, which allow you to control your speed. These basics are good to keep in mind for a safe experience.
