Via Ferrata Havranka is among the most unique experiences near Lake Lipno. You climb directly above the Vltava River, with a distinctive atmosphere and a view of the historical center of Český Krumlov. Thanks to a training route, the ferrata is suitable even for older children. This is one of the best views of Lake Lipno.
Who is the via ferrata for?
- Children aged approx. 8–10, it is important that they can safely reach the safety cable and clip carabiners independently.
- Beginners – thanks to a short training route, you can try everything safely low above the ground before climbing higher.
- Families – an ideal destination for a joint trip that combines outdoor movement with a bit of adrenaline.
- Experienced climbers – Route C offers technical passages and, above all, the best views of Český Krumlov from a bird’s-eye perspective.
Important: Children must always be under adult supervision and everyone must have full via ferrata equipment.
What to expect on the ferrata
Training route for the first steps on the rock face
An ideal place where children and adults can get a feel for the rock without the stress of heights. The route is short, clear, and perfectly prepares you for more demanding sections.
More demanding routes for the brave
For more experienced climbers, there is the demanding Route C with the longest rope bridge in the Czech Republic.
Bistro Garage and relaxation by the water
Not everyone has to climb. At Bistro Garage right under the rock face, you can have a coffee or lemonade and watch the climbers directly from the terrace.
Required Equipment
Safety is the priority, so access to the route is only allowed with full equipment.
Every climber must have:
- sturdy shoes
- seat harness
- via ferrata set with a fall absorber
- climbing helmet
On-site equipment rental
If you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent everything at the rental shop directly at the start of the ferrata. Open daily during the season, and out of season by prior arrangement.
Parking
It is most convenient to use Parking P2 Pod poštou, located right across the river. From the parked car, it is only about 250 meters of walking to the rental shop and the start of the ferrata.
