Imagine a place where you find yourself in the middle of a tropical paradise, surrounded by hundreds of colorful butterflies. Welcome to Papilonia Lake Lipno, a unique butterfly house that will offer your children an unforgettable experience.
At Papilonia, you will walk directly among hundreds of tropical butterflies from the Amazon, Africa, and Southeast Asia. The butterflies fly freely around you, land on flowers, and if you are lucky, they will even land on your clothes. You will see small, inconspicuous species as well as colorful beauties with a wingspan of up to 20 cm.
Part of the exhibition is a hatchery where you can watch the fascinating transformation of a pupa into an adult butterfly. Children love this moment – it is an experience that is rarely seen.
Papilonia offers a short educational trail that introduces you to the development of butterflies, their environment, and interesting defense strategies. You will learn, for example, why some species look like a dry leaf or how butterflies perceive colors.
The tropical environment, waterfalls, greenery, and hundreds of colorful butterflies create the ideal backdrop for beautiful photos. Photography is allowed, and children often take their best holiday pictures home from here.
