The Legend of Stožecká Chapel
It all began in the 18th century when a local blacksmith lost his most precious possession – his sight. Imagine the despair when you cannot practice your craft or see the faces of your loved ones. When all the doctors had failed, the blacksmith took one last desperate step – he washed his eyes with water from a local spring. And then – as if touched by a higher power – light returned to his eyes. Out of gratitude, he built a chapel on this spot, which still attracts pilgrims seeking strength and hope.
