The educational trail from Lipno to Frymburk starts at the parking lot below Kramolín. The route will take you through the cool shade of the forest past the most famous attractions of Lipno, climbs to the highest point of the ridge, and leads you via a forest spring and the Way of the Cross all the way to Frymburk.
Right from the parking lot under the Kramolín ski resort, the trip begins with a brisk climb up an asphalt road. This will take you all the way to the Forest Kingdom (Království lesa) and the Treetop Walkway.
From there, you continue along the ridge trail past the Alpine View point up to the Kaliště peak. At 993 m a.s.l., it is the highest point of the entire route and a pleasant place for a short breather.
Beyond Kaliště, a relaxing descent through the forest follows. Along the way, you will pass a quiet resting place with a forest spring where you can refresh yourself. The trail focuses on forestry and forest life, so you will come across seven educational panels by Lesy ČR along the way.
As you approach Frymburk, the forest opens up near the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows on Marta hill. The grassy summit with wooden benches offers a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Lipno, Frymburk, and the ridges of the Bohemian Forest. From there, you just comfortably descend along the historical Way of the Cross down to Frymburk, where the route ends.
You can return back to Lipno on foot along the lakeside cycle path, by bus, or during the season by the Lipno-Line boat.
