Cycling Around Lake Lipno! (79 km, 724 m elevation)
Asking how many km it is around Lipno? Get ready for a 79 km challenge. A full-day trip with magnificent views where you will cycle around the entire lake and climb over 700 meters.
This circular route takes you along the Vltava River and Devil’s Wall. With a total length of 40 km and a climb of 448 meters, this is a trip for more experienced cyclists. The route cleverly combines an easy section along the river (also suitable for children) with a more challenging climb through Přední Výtoň. The route also includes the experience of crossing Lake Lipno by ferry.
The cycling trip through the Vltava Canyon begins directly in Lipno nad Vltavou. From there, follow a comfortable cycle path that winds gently along the calm flow of the Vltava River. The road takes you through Loučovice to the impressive natural monument Devil’s Wall (Čertova stěna). The next part of the route is mostly downhill and will comfortably lead you to the historic town of Vyšší Brod. The journey continues from Vyšší Brod. Turn right at the square near the famous confectionery and prepare for a proper climb. The demanding section of the route leads through forest paths and ends at Kapličky. From there, a more pleasant profile awaits you, via Přední Výtoň to Frýdava. Here you will take the ferry to the other bank of Lake Lipno to Frymburk. From Frymburk, you will comfortably return to Lipno nad Vltavou along the marked cycle path Šumavská 33.

Those with strong legs can pedal from Přední Výtoň via Pasečná to Svatý Tomáš (49km, 667m). This cycle path leads to the ruins of Vítkův kámen, where you can enjoy the most beautiful view of Lake Lipno and refresh yourself in the amazing Bistro Krmelec. From there, you will ride down to Frýdava to catch the ferry to Frymburk.
