Horní Planá: The Story of the Vltava

The outdoor escape game in Horní Planá is the ideal choice for those who want to combine riddles, nature, and views of Lake Lipno. It starts directly in the small town and leads across the new lookout tower to places from which it is just a few steps to the water. The route is about 5 kilometers long and can be managed by children from ten years old.

The game works with physical props — you get a backpack full of maps, locks, and tools that you will actually use during the journey. No clicking in an app, but real riddle solving in the field.

What the story is about

The River Investigation Service is solving a mysterious case of a lost moldavite. Your team becomes part of the investigation and gradually uncovers clues that will guide you through the town, the forest, and around Lake Lipno. 15 riddles and rebuses await you, testing logic and teamwork.

What awaits you on the route

• Length: 5 km
• Time: 3–5 hours depending on pace
• Riddle difficulty: medium to higher
• Terrain: forest paths, stairs, roots (approx. 70% manageable with a stroller)
• Suitable for: families, groups of friends, teambuilding, school trips
• Dogs: yes, but part of the route leads through places where a leash is recommended

On the way, you can stop at the lookout tower, have a snack in a restaurant halfway through the route, and at the end, treat yourself to a sweet finish in the local pastry shop.

How the reservation works

• You choose a date online.
• After payment, you will receive the first clue to the starting point.
• You pick up the materials at the Horní Planá Info Center (daily during the season, otherwise according to opening hours).
• After finishing, you return the game to the same place — or by agreement at the U Tří koček café.
• If you don’t want to return anything, you can order a non-returnable set sent by mail (must be ordered 5 days in advance).

Lipno nad Vltavou: Gold Rush

This outdoor escape game is ideal for families with children who want to combine simple riddles, a short walk, and a story that truly engages children. The route leads through nature on the outskirts of Lipno nad Vltavou towards Frymburk and offers beautiful views and places to take a dip in the summer.

Unlike Horní Planá, you don’t work with a backpack full of props here. Materials arrive by email, you print them out, and you’re ready to go. It’s simple, accessible, and great for smaller children who can already read.

What the story is about

You set off on the trail of an adventurer who believes that a golden treasure is hidden in the Lake Lipno surroundings. On the way, you will solve small tasks, look for clues, and gradually piece together the story that will lead you to the final reveal. The riddles are simple and adapted for children from seven years old.

• Length: 3 km circular route
• Time: 2–3 hours
• Riddle difficulty: low (suitable for children)
• Terrain: forest paths, meadows, gentle climb (not manageable with strollers)
• Suitable for: families with children, school trips, camps, groups of friends
• Children: ideally from 7 years old (knowledge of letters required)
• Dogs: yes, the route is suitable for dogs

The route leads partly along the Lake Lipno reservoir, so in the summer you can even go for a swim on the way. A restaurant is only at the end of the route, so you’d better take a snack with you.

• You choose a date and pay for the order.
• Materials arrive by email – just print them out.
• The start of the route is at the end of Lipno nad Vltavou towards Frymburk (the exact location is in the materials).
• Materials are not returnable – you don’t return anything after the game.
• You can record the final time in the hall of fame and compare yourself with other teams.
